Aminocyclopyrachlor: New Option for Trumpet Flower Control in Pastures Planta Daninha
REIS,F.C.; CASON,J.B.; TOLEDO,R.E.B.; SOTOMAYOR,J.F.; FREITAS,M.M.; VICTÓRIA FILHO,R..
ABSTRACT The species Tecoma stans, introduced to Brazil to be cultivated in urban centers as street trees, in parks and gardens, became important pasture weed. The mechanical control of this species is difficult because the plant presents a large number of sprouts when are mowed. Furthermore, the herbicides usually used in pasture have been shown to be inefficient to control it. This research evaluated the trumpet flower control effectiveness using a new herbicide (aminocyclopyrachlor) applied alone in increasing doses to the cut stump for the control of resprouts and mixed with metsulfuron-methyl in applications to intact plant leaves. The experiment with foliar applications used increasing doses of herbicides (aminocyclopyrachlor + metsulfuron-methyl)....

METHODOLOGIES TO STUDY THE BEHAVIOR OF HERBICIDES ON PLANTS AND THE SOIL USING RADIOISOTOPES Planta Daninha
MENDES,K.F.; MARTINS,B.A.B.; REIS,F.C.; DIAS,A.C.R.; TORNISIELO,V.L..
ABSTRACT In Brazil, the “Pesticide Act” (Act no. 7,802/89) has introduced new criteria related to the environment, public health and agronomic performance in the analyses of pesticide-related activities. Likewise, radioisotopes are used for environmental behavior and in planta studies, since they provide some advantages in comparison to chemical measures, including greater sensitivity, stepwise description of a particular element in a metabolic system, and pesticide position and detection through X-ray films and/or radio image (in plants) and liquid scintillation (in plants and soil), respectively. This review describes methodologies related to radioisotope utilization in studies on herbicide absorption, translocation and metabolism in plants, as well as...

Use of Herbicides in Sugarcane in the São Paulo State Planta Daninha
REIS,F.C.; VICTÓRIA FILHO,R.; ANDRADE,M.T.; BARROSO,A.A.M..
ABSTRACT: Sugarcane is one of the main agricultural cultivations of Brazil, and one of the crops in which herbicides are most applied. In the 2017/2018 season, the estimated sugarcane production was 694.54 million tons, with an estimated increase of 0.9% in yield for this season. In order to evaluate the use of herbicides in this crop in the São Paulo State during a five-year period, a survey was carried out with sugarcane farmers. The use of herbicides applied alone and in a formulated mixture, according to their mechanism of action, were evaluated from 2010 to 2014. Photosystem II inhibitor herbicides were the most used in this period and the total amount of herbicides of almost all mechanism of action increased from 2010 to 2014, except for photosystem...
